Paul H. Smith served for seven years in the U.S. government’s remote viewing program at Ft. Meade, MD. Jim Myers
The Bigfoot evangelist: Inside Colorado’s Sasquatch museum and the mind of a believer. Myers moved to the small town of Bailey, about 75 miles northwest of Colorado Springs, in search of a new chapter. When they first opened the store in the 140-year-old building on Main Street, they sold groceries and called it the Bailey Country Store. Two years later, in 2015, the groceries weren’t selling. Myers went home to his wife with an idea. That was a couple of years after Animal Planet’s “Finding Bigfoot” filmed an episode in Bailey and after a friend told Myers she had seen Bigfoot nearby. “It seemed like there was enough interest to try something,” he said.
Drawing on a lifelong, back-of-his-mind interest in Bigfoot, he renamed his store The Sasquatch Outpost and filled it with memorabilia relating to the mythical (or not mythical?) creature. There are mini bottles of Bigfoot hair, socks, lots of T-shirts designed by Myers and bumper stickers (visitors can choose between one that says, “I Believe” and one that says “I Want to Believe.”)
The store is what Myers calls the “fun part.” The serious part — the museum in the back — opened in 2016 and makes the case that Bigfoot exists through photos of tracks and molds of footprints, recordings of mysterious sounds and tree branches broken and twisted in shapes that would perhaps require superhuman strength.
His Sasquatch Outpost is one of at least seven Bigfoot museums in the country and he’s working on expanding the store by 1,500 square feet. He’s also making a movie about Bigfoot to “correct all those terrible movies about Bigfoot.” The town of Bailey has embraced him and the store, which brings visitors to town who find out about it on Tripadvisor. Down the road, Mad Jack’s Brewery has a Sasquatch beer on tap.
Paul Hynek
The youngest son of the late Dr. J. Allen Hynek, an astronomer who worked with the U.S. Air Force investigating UFO cases from the beginning and the actual person behind the HISTORY Channel’s new series Project Blue Book, based on a real project to investigate UFOs from 1952 to 1969. A character based on J. Allen Hynek is the lead character in the series. Paul’s father began his investigation with USAF as a skeptic, but by the time Blue Book ended, he was convinced some UFO cases posed a real mystery.
In this interview, we talk to Paul about the production of the new series, his father’s UFO work, and how he hopes the show will affect viewers and perceptions of the UFO phenomenon.

Jacques F. Vallée
Born in France in 1939, Jacques grew up with a passion for astronomy. He studied mathematics at the Sorbonne, earned a Master’s degree in astrophysics at the University of Lille and tracked early artificial satellites at Paris Observatory.
Moving to the U.S. in 1962, he worked on NASA projects at the University of Texas in Austin (notably on the first computer-based map of Mars) before joining Northwestern University where he completed his PhD in artificial intelligence. He pursued his information and entrepreneurial career at Stanford University and SRI International as one of the Principal Investigators on the early Internet before managing a family of venture capital funds in Silicon Valley, specializing in information technology startups and early-stage medical and biotech investments.
Throughout his life, Jacques has maintained an interest in unidentified aerial phenomena, publishing his personal research in a series of books that have been widely translated around the world. He was the real-life model for the character portrayed by François Truffaut in the film, Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Author, journalist and TV personality Nick Pope used to run the British Government’s UFO project at the Ministry of Defence.
